From the till and sales to the warehouse, you learn how a business runs – and how to delight customers. Communication, a head for figures, and a flair for products become your superpower here. Flexible, organised, professional – that is how you become a retail professional.
Whether bookshop, chemist's, DIY store, fashion boutique or supermarket, these and all other retail stores want to be organised, and the customer well advised.
Within two to three years, you will learn in retail how to persuade customers to buy products, how to order goods, and how such a shop must be organised – at the checkout, in sales just as much as in the warehouse or the office.
You are able to approach people openly and are a natural communicator.
You have a head for numbers, or an enjoyment of and interest in certain products.
During the week you also have a day off, because from time to time you have to work on Saturdays. expect a diverse range of tasks and regular working hours.
